Majalah Fortune, majalah bisnis global yang diterbitkan oleh Fortune|Money Group milik Time Inc kambali mengeluarkan daftar 100 perusahaan yang dinilai sebagai tempat kerja terbaik di Amerika Serikat. Untuk kali ini, Google berhasil menduduki peringkat pertama.

"Semua hal berhasil diraih Google, mulai dari pendapatan tahun lalu, keuntungan, harga saham, tarif per klik, rekruitmen, hingga rasa cinta karyawannya," tulis Fortune seperti dikutip dari PC Mag, Jumat, 20 Januari 2011.

Raksasa teknologi ini bahkan berhasil melompat tiga peringkat dari posisi empat tahun lalu. Alasannya, para pekerja Google merasa bangga dengan misi, kultur, serta kondisi tempat kerjanya.

Coba saja intip kantor Google. Di dalamnya terdapat fasilitas lapangan bowling dan bocce (semacam permainan bola), hingga kafe yang menyediakan makanan secara gratis.

CEO Google, Larry Page, menyatakan alasan banyaknya sarana yang diperuntukkan bagi karyawannya itu adalah karena setiap orang pasti ingin merasa menjadi bagian dari sebuah keluarga, meskipun saat berada dalam lingkungan kerja.

"Sampai saat ini kami sudah tiga kali menduduki peringkat pertama, lebih dari perusahaan lainnya," ujarnya bangga.

Inilah 5 Besar Kantor Tempat Bekerja Terbaik di Amerika Serikat versi Majalah Fortune. Berdasarkan urutan adalah:

1. Google Inc. Tahun lalu, perusahaan internet yang identik dengan mesin pencari ini mencatatkan kenaikan di berbagai pos, seperti pendapatan, laba bersih, kenaikan harga saham, dan kenaikan trafik klik pencarian berbayar. Perusahaan juga disebut-sebut sangat mencintai karyawannya.

2. Boston Consulting Group. Sepanjang 2010, perusahaan ini berhasil menjala revenue sebesar 3,05 miliar dollar AS. Seorang guru SMA di India yang bernama Parijat Saha, dengan penghasilan bulanan sebesar 700 dolar Amerika (setara dengan Rp6,4 juta), terkejut saat memeriksa saldo tabungannya secara online dan menemukan saldo tabungannya berubah menjadi hampir 10 milliar dollar (setara dengan Rp91 trilliun)

Parijat Saha, yang berasal dari kota Balurghat, West Bengal, mengatakan bahwa ia melihat akun tabungannya di Bank Negara India secara online pada hari Minggu lalu untuk mengonfirmasi struk pembayaran bunga sebesar 200 dolar Amerika (setara dengan Rp1,8 juta).

"Tidak ada dampak yang serius bagi masyarakat. Mengingat, itu sudah pola alam. Lagipula masyarakat Arab sudah terbiasa dengan perbedaan temperatur ekstrim, terutama di malam hari. Suhu malam bisa mencapai 10 derajat celcius, di saat siang di atas 40 derajat celcius," Syarif menjelaskan.
